 | Products Formula |
The shake we examined, “Modifast Intensive Muesli Apple Cinnamon,” contains many ingredients that are said to be highly effective at promoting overall health. These ingredients include: Calcium, which is said to enhance bone strength, and is found in many dairy products; Biotin (Vitamin B7), which is said to be a strong energy booster, and is found in carrots and soy; Vitamin C, which is known for powering the immune system, and is consumed through citrus fruits; Chromium, which is said to increase metabolism; and Selenium, which is known for its “antioxidant” properties.
While these ingredients may assist someone in becoming healthier, we have some concerns regarding possible side effects that may result from their use, which we will examine in the following section.
|
 | Formula In Depth |
Firstly, the Chromium in the mixture is said to carry risks of kidney failure and liver dysfunction for some users. Folic Acid is also combined with Vitamin B12 in this shake. Scientific studies have shown these two ingredients, when taken in combination, may have cardiovascular risk for some people. It also contains Sodium, which is said to lead to hypertension and heart disease for some people. Saturated Fat is also present here, which is found in cookies, candy and other foods said to be “unhealthy.” It may cause weight gain for some users, the exact opposite of why anyone would buy this product.
|
 | Cost |
On the retailer’s website, we found that the shake cost about 27.75 euros, which amounts to $37.07 for nine bars. This averages to about $4.12 per shake. This is more than most of the meal replacement formulas we found, which ran between two and three dollars on average at the time of this review.

 | Customer Feedback |
At the time of this review, there is literally no consumer response to the advertised effectiveness of Modifast products. Most companies we found had at least one person who was willing to praise the benefits of the products they manufacture and market. We would feel significantly more confident in it if we could find at least one person who would do this for Modifast. Most Hoodia-based products we found had several consumers who acclaimed their health benefits.
|
 | Conclusion |
Modifast is said to effectively assist dieters in achieving their health goals. Some of its ingredients, such as Biotin, Vitamin C and Calcium, may do that for some users. However, we have some concerns.
Besides the possible side effects mentioned in this review, we would have liked to have seen at least one person come forward to discuss the advertised benefits. This would increase our confidence significantly, because it would provide us with some “proof” to back the claims.
Overall, we believe the product may work well for some users, but there are several companies that manufacture similar products that contain Hoodia and do not carry the potential side effects mentioned in our review. They also have significantly more consumer support to back up their advertised benefits, as well as professional customer care.
