Biotrainer |
 |
Introduction & Overview |
Biotrainer is a weight loss accessory advertised as a “technology” that can help monitor weight loss. The website mentions, that the National Institutes of Health, and studies, which were performed at Johns Hopkins Medical School, The American Psychiatric Association, and The Cooper Institute created it to use the “technology” that was supported for Aerobic Research. The product markets the idea that it can allow users to know exactly how many calories they are using throughout the day. Let’s explore this technology further to see what it can really do.
|
 | Pros |
• Monitors calories burned
• Free trial provided
|
 | Cons |
• Not a true weight loss system
• At time of review, only a few testimonials posted
• Little mention of customer service on the website
|
 | Concept |
Biotrainer uses a patented technology that uses a precision motion sensor, which is the same kind of technology which is used by NASA to keep an eye on the activities of the astronauts during their space flight. This allows the user of the Biotrainer to keep track of the amount of calories they are burning throughout the day-not just when they are exercising.

 | Design |
Biotrainer uses a lightweight design that is about the same size of your cell phone, with an easy to read display screen. It is said to be small enough to be clipped to a belt, a waistband or strapped to the arm when working out. This is particularly useful during exercise because you can see your results, and make any adjustments to your routine to maximize weight loss and fat burning ability. Supposedly, the system comes with computer software that allows the user to go home and hook it up to their computer to evaluate that day’s performance, in order to see what the calories burned ration is.

 | Customer Feedback |
The Biotrainer website posts some before and after photos, as well as testimonials. It is obvious when you review this section, which they call success stories, that these individuals have lost some weight, and are clearly happy with their progress. Testimonials are an awesome feature because they illustrate a products capabilities as well as letting consumers know what their peers experience has been with a product, such as Biotrainer.
However, we were rather disappointed to see that there where so few testimonials posted. In fact only four were posited at time of review. Frankly we expected more considering the claims made about this product, and the consumer interest it has sparked. But perhaps this developer thought this was enough considering that Biotrainer is endorsed by Dr. Barry Sears, the inventor of the Zone Diet, and Denise Austin, who has become one of the leading experts on weight loss.

 | Conclusion |
Overall, when you view the Biotaimer website and the before and after photos, it is clear that this product has some ability to help users monitor their weight loss. However, it is really hard to say that it is the sole reason for weight loss, since it is more of an accessory than an actual weight loss system. It seems to us, that results will vary depending on the degree of discipline of the user.
In the end we would have liked to have seen more emphasis put on the level of customer care that comes with this product, because when it comes to weight loss products, customer care can really help optimize weight loss, especially when it comes to a product such as this. It is always smart to seek out products that have a reputation for providing quality customer service.
