Introduction & Overview |
BioSlim® is supposed to be a “medical breakthrough” program that is marketed as “the most powerful, most healthful weight loss systems ever created.” Perhaps the majority of customers would not be impressed by such claims anymore; in fact, such assertions seem to have become clichéd and redundant. Having said this, we must also give credit where it’s due: BioSlim® probably has the right to market itself as a weight loss “system.”
BioSlim® is among those products that try to take a holistic approach to weight loss. It tries to combine a diet program along with exercise and proprietary supplements. We encourage such a holistic approach. The key issue in the industry, however, seems to do with supplements. With this on our minds, we will take a faithful look at the BioSlim®
“system” while focusing on its supplements. We will conclude whether its supplements and its diet specifications may really be “the most powerful, most healthful” combination.

| Product’s Concept |
The “system” is said to consist of three powerful BioSlim® tools: the Formulas, the Food Plan and the Simple Activity Plan. However, we found that the makers don’t seem to focus much on the Food and the Activity Plans, as were unable to find much information about them on their website. It is only mentioned that the Plans may consist of following the regimen in their cookbook and their workout/educational videos. On the other hand, the highlight seems to be on their three Formulas: The Accelerator, Ultra SlimTone and Ultra Vita/Min Plus.

The three Formulas contain the following ingredients among them: Green Tea, Cotinus, Quercetin, BioSlim Pyruvate Complex, Coenzyme Q10, Vitamins B6 and C, Glucomannan, Chromium Polynicotinate, Ginseng Root, Pantothenic Acid, Essential Vitamins & Minerals, Sargassum, Atractylodes, Astragalus, Chinese Thoroughwax, Gardenia, Balloon Flower, Licorice Root, Dong Quai, Laminaria, Choline, Inositol, and Bromelain. Besides these, there may be additional ingredients as well.
The reason we group all of the ingredients in one is because the formulas have overlapping ingredients, with only a few changes. Among them, Green Tea is said to be the “the most powerful, proven weight loss aid in the world,” and Cotinus and Quercetin are supposed to aid Green Tea functions. We believe Glucomannan may provide a feeling of being full. Chromium may also be a known and proven ingredient. It is believed that it may assist insulin in regulating fat, carbohydrate and glucose and during protein metabolism. However, the sheer number of ingredients in the Formulas may be overwhelming. The formulas also fail to include known appetite suppressants and effective fat burners.

We believe the BioSlim® website may be up to the par. It has some nice features and a great deal of information. We appreciate their sincere attempt to win consumer trust. However, the costs may work against them. A startup kit may come for as much as $89.95 while refills may go for around $40 a bottle each for Accelerator and Ultra SlimTone, containing 60 tablets each.

| Conclusion |
We have seen that although BioSlim® is marketed as a holistic “system,” the focus seems to be on the supplements, of which we have some hesitations. First, most of the ingredients seem to have nothing to do with weight loss. Second, they may be too expensive.
In the end, we believe that an effective supplement must have only known and creditable ingredients, instead of containing numerous and somewhat dubious exotic extracts. That, added with the fact that many formulas in the market may offer free trial offers and may be much friendlier on the wallet, makes us wonder why we should invest our resources in BioSlim®.
